National Leader's Letter - April 2025

Dear Aglow Family,

What a month it’s been, where throughout it, I was frequently reminded how this year is indeed one of building and establishing for Aglow! 

It’s caused us in Leadership to have our eyes set on the horizon and ears continually inclined to what the Lord, our Master Builder, is saying at this appointed time, so we’re obedient and are following precisely as He leads.

Throughout it all the Lord continues to reinforce the theme, 'Arise,' and position Aglow as an army of warriors (interestingly, a term that's also being associated with Aglow International, our counterparts in NZ and the South Pacific) who are being clearly called to prepare the way for revival and reformation.  

Praying again into this, I had an impression of the Lord walking among the ranks awakening our hearts collectively; of stirring new into action, of embers being fanned again into a growing fire for all that He’s wanting to appropriate together.

We, who are His ‘Corporate David.’ 

I say that intentionally, because as I’m currently reading about King David, I had the privilege of being given a copy of Colin Brown’s book (a much-loved Aglow Board member,) ‘Born for Battle,’ which refers to the remnant bride being a “Corporate David who’s arising.”  

As referenced, “The Lion of Judah has triumphed. The battle is the Lord’s. A people who know their God who have been born for battle and summoned to fight the good fight of faith.” 

Further, ‘but the people who know their God will be strong and take action,’ and “After God removed Saul, He raised up David to be king and testified that David was a man who always pursues my heart and will accomplish all that I have destined him to do.” (Daniel 11:32; Acts 31:22)

How that moves my heart; for Aglow to be a people who know their God and who pursue His heart. We, who will follow hard after Him in obedience for all that we have been “destined to do.” 

Let me, therefore, share two points that speak to how we are being led to arise in this hour through His training individually and corporately:  

Arising Individually: As I’ve shared with some, the Lord’s been impressing upon my heart that for a season, our future ‘Keeping Informed’ zoom gatherings are to have a change of focus where we directly involve our own women, as opposed to guest speakers. This may be a short season, however, it’s part of our training as He gently woos us to arise in ways we’re led to participate. 

This will not only cultivate new muscle in each of us, it’s ultimately going to create personal and collective ‘ownership’ of an emerging vision that will establish even greater unity for what we’ve being called into. 

It's never been more important to lock our shields and be united in heart and purpose.  

Arising Collectively: This next focus is particularly key to another aspect of His training which has been a very clear lead: Fast. Give. Pray. 

As indicated, in a year that’s heavy in birthing and establishing, these themes will be unpacked individually to you as the Lord reveals, because each will have a significant purpose for us to then participate in. 

But here’s the thing; we’re in it together, for the Lord showed us that we, the Board, need to initiate this. So, starting today for the next three weeks, there will be one day a week, where the Board will fast to enquire of the Lord as to what each theme represents.

We value you praying for us, as it plays such a critical part in helping us identify and deliver what has been ordained for us this year.    

It’s also why our ARISE Conference in August is so significant, as it will be more than just another gathering, but represent a milestone moment for Aglow. 

This, however, is more than celebrating our 50th year, but due to dedicating some time where we'll symbolically arise in response to His call as a movement that's preparing the way for revival and the reformation of our land. 

As we do, I sense our obedience and hearts will create an activation that opens up something in the Spirit and moves us forward. 

In closing, therefore, is a link below by Dutch Sheets (followed briefly by Chuck Pierce), who powerfully communicates the same resolute spirit and commitment as Aglow, to see reformation and the establishing of His Kingdom purposes on earth as it is in Heaven. 

Dutch Sheets demonstrates two groups – ‘Family’ verses ‘Ekklesia’ – i.e., what the body’s been faithfully doing as a house of God over the years, verses the Ekklesia who are a rising governing authority in Him, declaring and decreeing reform. We need both.
