Altars of Surrender

My journey with Aglow has spanned almost forty years of spiritual growth, leadership development, and altars of surrender. I came into Aglow as a young woman, newly born again and redeemed from a lifestyle of bikes and drugs — leaving Sydney for the Hunter Valley after a drug squad raid on our home exposed the inevitable consequences of a series of poor life choices. Shortly after resettling in Maitland, God’s grace miraculously reached us, and I found myself not only introduced to the Church of Jesus, but also to the larger Kingdom perspective that Aglow offered.

Aglow has been transformational for me on so many levels — the warmth and fellowship at the local level, and the rich, Spirit-filled teaching at national conferences over many years. The consistency and excellence of these gatherings cultivated both spiritual maturity and a deep sense of value and worth as a woman — transforming me from the inside out.

I still remember my first conference: standing among women from all over the nation, awed by the dynamic atmosphere in the room and the prophetic teaching that went straight to my heart. My continued journey with Aglow eventually led me to serve as a local branch leader for seven years, building my capacity as a leader and follower of Christ.

I’ve been privileged to serve under two dynamic women — Rev. Joan Morton and the lovely Kerry-Ellen Logan. My recent attendance at the National Conference in Tasmania has given me great confidence that the ministry of Aglow will continue to carry the DNA of the King and His Kingdom through the fresh commissioning of Elizabeth West to lead us into this next season.

I’m excited for the new era that Aglow has stepped into and will continue to attend and champion this unique and powerful ministry.
