40 Years Young

What a privilege it is to share a little of my journey with Aglow as we celebrate our Jubilee Year.

I was pregnant with my third child when I was first introduced to Aglow. I called her my “Aglow baby” — she has just turned 40! I began at Knox City with Dorothy Jones as President. Those days were a lifeline to me as a young mum; I received so much encouragement, support, and training.

My first role was in membership, which included giving a monthly promotional talk. I still remember holding that microphone for the first time, almost frozen with fear — oh, how He has shaped and moulded me over the years. It was also during that time that I first began to “cut my teeth” in leading worship.

About 13 years later, I returned to work and needed a night fellowship. Dandenong Night Aglow became my new home, with Robyn Carron as President. I thought I would take a step back, but was quickly called back into leadership! Now known as the East Gate Region, we still have our core leadership team — Robyn, Sally, Roz, and myself. Our WhatsApp group is affectionately called the “Awesome Foursome.”

My journey in Aglow is a testimony to God’s sustaining faithfulness. As I continue into this new era, I can truly testify to His absolute goodness and sovereignty.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”Philippians 1:6
