Easter Greetings
On this important day in Holy Week we remember the night Jesus shared the final Passover meal with His disciples. They were His closest friends and followers and He had something to share with them. It was the greatest gift they could be given even though at that point they did not understand it fully.
"And He said to them, I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; For I say to you, I shall eat it no more until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God." Luke 22:15-16
Jesus had something to reveal to them. He was instituting the New Covenant of love with His closest friends gathered around this table. This covenant would be fulfilled as Jesus gave His life on the cross and His blood was poured out, as He breathed His last and the veil was rent in two.
It had been prophesied in Jeremiah 31 and it was a covenant that would be written in the hearts and minds of His people, the intimacy of relationship would be revealed in "knowing Him" and sin would be remembered no more.
No wonder He earnestly desired this moment.
"This is My body which is given for you, do this in remembrance of Me.
"This is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you." Luke 22:19-20
Jesus has given all that we would know and experience and live in the fullness of what the Father has for our lives. We are new creations and in Him we live and move and have our being.
Share this good news with others and reveal the hope, life and love that we have within us for this troubled day in which we live.
A blessed Easter to you all.
